John Mundy

De Lamentations de Jérémie.

[Moondaye, Munday, Monday, Mondy, Mundies, Mundie]

(Londres ~1555 – Windsor 29 juin 1630)

Compositeur et organiste anglais, il étudie la musique avec son père William Mundy, succède en 1580 à Richard Farrant aux orgues de la Chapelle Saint George, Windsor, poste qu'il occupe conjointement avec Nathaniel Giles à partir de 1585, obtient son Bachelor of Music en 1586 et Doctor in Music en 1624.

Il écrit un De lamentatione Jeremie à 5 vx dont le texte correspond à un motet anonyme du Liber quartus sacrarum cantionum de Susato (1547) à l'exception des acrostiches et des introductions.
